Reunited and it feels so good

Caleb and I went to pick up Sophie, who had stayed with Pau-Pau and Gong-Gong for a couple of days while the nanny was out of town.  We net up an McDonald's.  While Sophie took a few minutes to warm back up to Mama, she immediately went to Caleb and wanted to play with him.  Love.

Our Mountain Trip

We took advantage of the fact that the nanny was off this week and that we feel like we've turned a corner on being about to travel alittle more with the kids.  We rented a cabin near Hendersonville, which was very private, had a trout pond, game room and of course a hot tub. It was great for all of us, including Evey. We also hiked a couple of time with the kids, which is not as easy as it used to be with an extra 20-35 lbs on top of us.  Although, it made for a better workout.  The area is knows for Waterfalls, so we headed to Dupont Forest Park nearby.
Here are some pictures from the trip

Evey swimming and retrieving sticks in the pond
Caleb fishing with Baba.  Albeit, his attention lasted about 5 minutes then he was more interested in throwing rocks and sticks in the pond to the fishys.

Our own private waterfall next to our house.  Every night we left the door open to sleep with the fresh air and the sound of the waterfall. Ahhhhhh......

Last Day of School

Today was Caleb's last day of school, so we took his teacher's in a Gift Card Flower Pot.  Caleb said it was our project....his words, not mine.  Then we celebrated the day with ice cream afterschool!  Caleb ate most of it and loved it.  As you can see, a lot of it ended up on his clothes and all around him.

Lunch at the Cracker Barrel

We had lunch with Gong-Gong and Pau-Pau on Sunday at the Cracker Barrel.  Good home style food and treats for the kids. :)

Strawberry Picking

It's that time of year again....time for fresh strawberries.  We had so much fun last year picking our own strawberries we wanted to go again this year.  Caleb and Sophie had a great time.  Caleb ate a LOT of strawberries (and he found out why you don't eat the green ones-one got stuck in his mouth), and didn't quite pick a ton.  That's ok, that's how it should work at his age. :)  Sophie rode along in the Ergo with me, so I got my workout with her doing squats for basically an hour while we were picking strawberries.  My thighs were burning for a few days.  We got some pictures of them enjoying the day, and then enjoying more strawberries later.  We had so many strawberries, we gave some to our friends and my parents and still had a ton.  It felt like we were in Forrest Gump...strawberry pie, strawberry shortcake, strawberry ice cream, strawberries and whip cream and even froze some too!!  There is nothing like a fresh picked strawberry......

Round Two

Buddies

Caleb is a great big brother (well...most of the time ;) ) .  He loves to play with Sophie.  He will crawl around with her and likes to follow her around.  Sophie now knows to go to the toy chest and stand up to find something she wants.  She will also grab it out and then sit down and start playing with it.  She loves Caleb's musical train and his computer.

Changes every day

Sophie seems to change and mature everyday. She wants to eat everything we are eating and will stare at you then start fussing if you don't let her......feisty already.  She also has figured out how  to find you from angles if you are playing peek-a-boo.  I was looking down at one point, and she leaned her head sideways to get a look at me; all while smiling. Cutie.  She is also babbling constantly, and seems very, very close to saying some words.
