Summer Trip - Part 2

So, after we left Ohio, we started our long journey to the beach.  While it felt a bit backwards- we headed to Ohio to then drive to Topsail Island on the southern side of the NC coast.  Thank goodness Sean doesn't get car sick bc he had to keep Sophie company for most of the trip, and also thankful for the DVD player in our car-which kept Caleb entertained.  We spent about a week at the beach, and Sean's parents joined us a couple of days later.  The house was very spacious and nice, and only a short walk to the beach access.  If only we could have stayed longer....... Everyone had a great time, and enjoyed the beach.  Funny enough, one of my best friends from college was in town with her family, so we met up with them for lunch. Sadly, we only live about 30 mins away from one another all the time and never see each other. :) Caleb loved it even more than last year, and Sophie loved her 1st trip to the beach.  Most days Caleb missed his afternoon nap bc the best time to be on the beach bc of low tide was between 12-5, but as soon as we would head home and shower and relax he would fall asleep.  Sophie (and Papa) would nap directly on the beach.   The last full day we had, we headed for the beach and stayed the entire day and everyone zonked out for a bit.  Caleb took an hour and half nap on the blow up mattress.  Gone are the days of relaxation and traveling light anywhere. :) We also celebrated Sophie's 1st birthday with a quick cupcake with Mimi and Papa. Caleb and Sophie had such a great time at the beach and with Mimi and Papa.  There was definitely a lot of bonding time.  Thanks also to them for giving Sean and I a much needed break.  Just being able to sleep in was amazing. :)
