So this is a little late, but better late than never. You just don't have the same amount of time as you did before with one. And with one we thought we were always busy. :)
So, we were scheduled for an induction on Monday, August 6th. She obviously has some "Wang" in her, bc she decided that she was going to come on her own term. Friday, the 3rd - Caleb and I were getting breakfast ready and my water broke. Since this was a new experience for me- I wasn't quite sure. I called the doctors office to see what we should do and they scheduled an appt at Noon for us to come in. I then called Sean to let him know what was going on. My contractions started to get a little more timely, so we headed into the doctors office early to see if they could fit us in. Needless to say, the doc told us to head on into the hospital. We checked into the hospital around noon, and the doctor started us on some pitocin. Sean tried to tell them how sensitive I was to it last time, but they didn't really listen. So, when we decided it was time for the epidural, in the 15 mins we were waiting for the anethesiologist to come; i went from 5 cm to 10 cm +2 (which basically meant Sophie was going to join us within 2 pushes...) This of course meant i would not be getting an epidural. Add to this, my doctor then was not able to arrive in time for the delivery, and they had to grab another doctor who was there waiting for her patient to deliver. my doctor showed up after all the excitement. So, glad i had to do my rotations of doctors- since this was the 2nd time a doctor i had never met delivered our baby. :)
At 3:27 pm Sophia Li-Hui Hardesty arrived in this world. probably a little more rapidly than she expected, as she did have some facial bruising due to the quick travel out of her warm womb. Weighing in a 6 lbs 7 ozs, 19 inches long; she was definitely a lot more petite than her brother was.
Here are some pics from the hospital.
Dad "resting" before the action starts
Pau-Pau came to stay overnight
Caleb meeting his sister for the 1st time and getting his presents from her.
A popsicle treat at 10:30 in the morning. after that, he was ready to leave.
Getting discharged
Sophie was even tinier than Caleb was when we took him home.....
